Spring BreakAway... 2009

So I just realized I wrote this a long time ago.. and I didn't finish it so i didn't post it.. but anyway, I'm posting now, just so you can have a taste of what BreakAway was like...

So like, Spring Breakaway was amazing... lol

We left the church like really late; we were all suppose to be there at 11:30am and leave at 12:00pm but after packing up the trailer with all the lugage we pulled out around 1:30pm. :-P

We stopped in Wadesboro, NC for lunch... It was quite delish... And then we drove another 2 hours on to Garden City, NC. We had fun in the car if you can't tell.

Our van was the first to arrive in Garden City and when we got there we found out why the other buses weren't there... my daddy's bus had blown a tire on the way down there! So shortly after we got there Ken and Christie went and got my daddy but they didn't get to Garden City till close to 11pm that night...

The service Friday night was very good though. Our Speaker was Wayne Northup and he spoke on what it really means to be a Christian. And baisically he said that we have to surrender everything we are to God in order for him to use us, we can't just be saved and then keep walking around like the rest of the world, we have to surrender our sinful lifestyles and be obediant to God. It was really good. God taught me somethings that night...

Early Saturday morning we had our Beach Devo. Good stuff.

Saturday morning we had chapel and a quick word from one of Wayne's staff, Andrew.

And then on to the games... I don't have any awesome pics this year because I was to busy getting dirty but the games we pretty awesome. We played Alphabet Slime, Tennis Slip-n-Slide, some sort of Slime Mind Field game, Crabby Duck-Duck-Goose, and you don't even want to know about the Bolonga Relay.... lol I had such a blast though!

Then we had some lunch and then free time...

Benefit Concert

Last Friday night The Penitent Call (my fine arts worship team) opened up David's Project 127 Benefit Concert. It was pretty awesome.

There were two other bands that followed us... 100%; they were like this really sick rap group. I don't really care for rap/hip-hop stuff but their hearts for God were so sweet and beautiful and you could so tell they were so sincere in they're walk with Christ. And they had some really good lyrics to their tunes.

Writing Home followed 100%. They were pretty much a Christian rock group. I don't know all the details but I'm pretty sure they do the music for the Youth Shack at Kingsway Baptist (which was where the concert was). They were pretty good, my faves were the last two songs they did. The second to the last song was called Wonderfully Made and they had 100% come back up and do this one with them. It was really cool, it had kinda a Jesus Freak thing jumpin' off; it was definitely a rock song but it had rap in it. And then the last song David got back up there with them and totally shredded some cello solos. I can't remember the name of that song but with David on the cello... it was amazing.

It was all really fun and we raised over $600 for Project 127 who will in turn be using that money to feed kids in Guatemala. Not a bad way to spend a Friday night, eh?

CWE-Concord

Tonight was the kickoff night for the Concord KidzAblaze Worship Explosion.

It was really really fun and I'm so excited about tomorrow! We were visited tonight by 'Not-too-Bright', which is always intresting. ;-) And Pastor Randy brought an awesome awesome message about being comfortable with where we are as Christians and not doing anything about the probablems in the world. It was a really good message and I think it applies to the whole church, not just the kids.

If you don't know what KidzAblaze is let me try to some it up for ya...

KidzAblaze is Ministry started by Pastor Randy Thompson. Its primary goal is to help kids realize they are not too young to be in ministry and then we help kids by training in the area of ministry they're intrested in. They do this by doing different kinds of events, Worship Explosions (mentioned above) are one of these kinds of events. At these events we have services and workshops. For example tomorrow we're having Dance, Worship, Drama, Puppets, Face Painting, Balloon Art, and Face Painting workshops for the kids to pick from. They also do Kidz Camps in the summer which are structured similarly to the Explosions just they're a week long instead of two days. :-) Its really a great ministry and I love being apart of it.

Yay! for Thursdays!

Okay so I have a few mins so I wanted to write y'all really quick about what an average Thursday is like for me.

In the mornings I get up and do about an hour of school then at 9:45am I go to CFA to babysit with Heidi and DJ (the coolest people ever. ;-) for Greenhouse (Women's ministry). Then I get to go home for about an hour and a half to eat lunch. Piano lessons are from 2:15 to 2:45 and voice lessons with my sisters are from 3:00 to 4:00. Then I go home, then I have to be back at the church at 6pm for Kidz World Band practice and then (since its the spring time!) immediately after that I have Fine Arts Worship Team Practice till 8:30ish.

Then the day is over. :-)

But today I'll be back the at the church at 5:30 to eat with the band. :-)

Right now, I'm still in the 'B

abysitting' portion of the day... still a long way to go. :-]

Many things happened in February... I did my first Valentine's Banquet, it was very fun. David LaCorix is awesome. ;-)

Also I went to my first KidzAblaze Worship Explosion of the year. :-) Learned a lot that weekend and I had a total blast.

And now here I am in March...

We're doing an awesome sermon series in 365: the Ressistance. God's been doing some awesome stuff through that. Pastor Jon challenged us 2 weeks ago to start praying 4 hours a week. To help us do that he's been giving us little tea light candles that last 4 hours for us to light while we pray and then bring back every Wednesday. He's calling it 'Pray and Seek', its really been challenging me to go even deeper in my walk with Christ.

I've got about 3 weeks left to get all of my fine arts categories together for the District festival on April 3rd and 4th. I'm doing Worship Team, Small Ensemble, Female Vocal Solo, Digital Photography, and Songwriting this year. Considering how I did last year, I really am trying hard to expand on that and keep getting better and better at what I do. Cause after all that kinda is the point of the Fine Arts festivals. ;-)

I took the ACT last month :-\ and I just took the SAT Saturday... that was not very fun.
