Fall Festival...

Last Friday was the fall festival! It was so fun! Micole Wallace Band was awesome! The Jeremy Hawkins (sp?) Band was awesome! Our human Video was awesome! The BBQ was awesome! The Candy was AWESOME! If you weren't there you should have been! It was great.

Lake House!

Hey Y'all!

Last Sunday right after church we went to the Ostrynski lake house. It was so amazing!!! We (the Kidz World Band) had such a great time. It was so beautiful out at the lake. Thanks Justin! It was so awesome for you to open your house up to us! We had a blast! Here's a few pics.

Deadliest Catch Begins

Last night P. Jon started a new series called Deadliest Catch. I guess I'd say its about evalgelism, but like P. Jon always does its really so much more than that. Its not just something you should do because you're a Christian, its your ultimate purpose and reason for existing. Doing something that will impact someone's eternity is the only thing that will yeild lasting, enternal results. So we've got to start reaching out to our friends, praying for them, loving them like Jesus would.

That's kinda P. Jon's sermon in a very small nutshell from last Wednesday. This next sermon is gonna be so awesome and if you weren't there last week please download the sermon from iTunes. This series is gonna change lives. And if people actually listen to it and let it sink in and they act on it, it could change Concord. I'm so excited to see what God is gonna do! Fireproof

Yesterday me, Jazzy, Jordan, and Sierra went to the mall and saw Fireproof.

I know I'm not any kind of professional movie critic or anything but I think it was an awesome movie.

Here's a general synopsis:

Caleb Holt (Kirk Cameron) is the captain of the local Firefighter Battalion and a hometown hero. However no matter how impressive his feats he feels he cannot gain the respect he deserves from his wife, Cathrine (Erin Bethea). They begin a 40 day journey to save their marriage in a very desperate situation. *Spoiler Warning* Through this 'journey' Caleb discovers many things about himself, his wife, and how they both need a Savior to save not only their marriage but their souls as well.

This movie is one of the best Christian movies I've seen in a long time... The truths about love and marriage spoken in this movie are real and kinda in your face. But they're totally Biblical and need to be shared with our growing population of divorcing couples. Its so sad that so many are getting divorces but there is hope for these couples and its presented wonderfully in this movie. I think every married or previously married or wanting to get married person could gain something from this movie. I certainly enjoyed it.

Here's what's been keeping me

Okay, so like I know I'm way behind on my posting so I thought I'd show you why I've been so busy....

Yeah, I've been planting flowers...

HAHA

Seriously though, Daddy worked my butt off last Saturday and that flower bed was just one of the millions of things I did. We were all working really hard last Saturday 'cause my parents just started a new Bible Study (most of y'all know they already have one going on) and anyway my parents want everything to look just right. So yeah, I got pulled into all that. :-) But its gonna look good when we get totall finished. (Daddy still has somethings to finish)

So anyway, I'll try to keep y'all posted (haha no pun intended) on the home improvements. :-)

It was awesome!

Last Friday night we had the Fine Arts Appreciation Banquet. It was really really nice and I wish all the music and media people could have been there. There was about 150 people there in all. While we were there we had the privilege to preview and worship with the CFA @ 29 N Worship Team. They were all black and they were awesome! I love black people! :-) Anyway... we also played "Don't Forget the Lyrics" CFA style. It was hilarious. :-D The food was really good too... we had Chicken alla Glaze, Carrots, Squash and Zucchini, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Rice, Yeast Rolls with Butter and gobs of deserts! Yummy! ...you should have been there. haha

Oh yeah, and my mom won a Mum.... :-)

Well, whadya know!

Okay, you know that first blog I posted...

Well, this is kinda a follow-up post of that post. Yesterday and today I've been practicing what I was preaching in that post and today God totally answered my prayers. I don't want to go into a ton of details but I'd basically been praying God to challenge me, show me what I need to be doing in some certain areas, and that He would speak to me through His word. And He did just that.

Today I was reminded of how real, aware, and concerned for us God really is. He's seemed to show up even in the little things of my day. I just want to encourage each of you: God wants to speak with you, guide you, give you peace, and give you love. He's real. Even when we forget. So don't give up praying. Don't give up reading the Word. He's just waiting for you to be ready for His next appointment with you.

The Vibe

Okay, I know this is a little late...

Here's one of my better pics I took at the Vibe last Wednesday (8/24/08). This is Wavorly for those of you who don't know. And if you weren't at the Vibe this year you missed it! And you better come next year. Its gonna be great.

Me In a Few Paragraphs...

Hey, I'm Lindsey. I love God, my family, my friends, and music (in that order). I love a Savior who loves each of us so much. I love worshiping Him through my life and through music, not just one or the other. I love big families like mine. I love homeschooling. I love Truth. I love my friends, even when they mess up. I love making music by myself and with others to bring glory to God and just to have fun sometimes. I love to sing, because its the easiest way for people to see me as I really am. I love people of my generation, but I hate the sin they are in.

I like CFA and 365. I like the pastors there. I like eastern NC style BBQ. I like hanging out with my sisters. I like playing piano and bass guitar. I like Italian food. I like hanging out with my friends. I like Jazzy. I like Sarah. I like lots of other people too. I like my worship leaders, they've all taught me so much. I like 2 Chronicles 7:14-15. I like country, christian rock, and contemporary christian music. I like Chocolate. I like unique modest apparel. I like the colors brown and blue. I like Girls Only. I like Photography and Cosmetology. I like sewing, scrapbooking, and jewelry making. I like the mountains and the beach. I like missions trips. I like water.

I don't like rap (sorry). I don't like mushy veggies. :-P I don't like Spelling. I don't like the feeling you get from eating high carb, high fat food (I sure do love the taste though!). I don't like Satan, he's not very cool.

I hate sin (but I always try to love the sinner).

I Got It Now...

I finally figured out today why my Bible reading/Prayer time has been kinda hum-drum of late....

You see, this past summer was really a spiritual awakening for me; between, Honduras, Fasting, and Fine Arts... my whole life has been reshaped. Last summer was also challenging, inspiring, and motivating for me spiritually so when school kicked back in everything was "back to normal" in more ways than I wanted...

P. Jon talked about prayer today in CG, he used the story of Adam and Eve and the Fall of man. Here's Genesis Chapter 3, we mainly looked at verses 7-11 and 21: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=1&chapter=3&version=31. Just like God wanted to communicate with Adam and Eve He also desperately wants to speak with us. And when we do speak to Him we wants us to do two things: (1) tell Him what we need and (2) talk to Him about 'stuff'.

The first part is pretty simple; present your requests to God. Tell Him what you want, need or what you want for other people. Praying for starving children, for your grandma to be healed, or for an iTouch :-) all fall into this category. And if you ask for things God wants to give you then He'll provide them for you just like in verse 21.
That 'stuff' I'm talking about is really all the things in your life. Whether it be sin or something you want God's opinion on or a place in your life where you just need His direction. This part of prayer should be challenging but if you truly are seeking Him he will answer these prayers; it might be in that still small voice, it might be through people, it might be through His word. Bottom line, He WILL answer in one way or another if you are right with Him and continue to seek even when results are not immediate.

I haven't really been doing that Second part lately... I've just kinda been reading and telling God what I need. This short sermon P. Jon preached has really helped me see the importance of confessing my sin and asking God about everything in my life, not just telling Him what I want and sorta reading His word.
